Don't think of it as a goodbye, more like a see you later.
This post is written by Jim's daughter Tyra.
As many of you know my Dad departed to his next adventure on Monday morning. It was sadly a one way ticket and the gate agent called sooner than many of us expected. He was surrounded by laughter and his immediate family. He was escorted away by our three previous departed furry friends making it easier for him to get through security, I assume.
My Dad was so important to so many people. He had the uncanny ability to make everyone feel heard and valued everyone's opinion. Not one to shy away from debates and hard conversations, consider yourself one of the lucky ones if you all of sudden found yourself hours deep into a discussion that had spread on to six different tangents. All of this is to say my Dad is going to greatly missed not just by me and my family, but by anyone who knew him. His sense of humor and charisma could charm anyone and make them laugh.
Thank you so much for all the love and support you have shown us as we try and navigate this life without his grounding presence. As of right now, we don't know for sure when the service will be but we will make sure to share the details when we know them.
In the mean time our wonderful friend Mary is helping us make a tribute for my Dad. To help with this, please send any photos you have of him to memoriesofjimf@gmail.com. If you have any questions just reach out to me and I will try my best to troubleshoot. I'm no where as good as my Dad but I can do my best (and if not I have friends with computer science degrees that I can outsource to).
Thank you again for all the love.
Tyra
