Day 2 - Preparing for Change

Lots of firsts today... an enema; coffee flavored. Not sure if there are other flavors but I will ask about vanilla tomorrow. Hahaha. A generous glass of wheat grass with other assorted green veggies that are supposed to help fight these rogue cells. I had a shot sized glass of turmeric, coconut and cinnamon without the alcohol. I had a clavicle port put in for administering vitamin C, B-17, and possibly ozone treatments. I also spent 30 min in the hyperbaric and hyperthermic chambers as part of my new daily schedule. The best first was that I got about 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep last night! It has been about 2 months since that has happened. Started at 7 AM and finished up by 6 PM.

I felt pretty good today, slight nausea around lunch time. It is hard to switch to a vegetarian diet, but I was able to get most of the salads, salmon and eggs down. I am committed to making this work, but hopefully when I talk to the nutritionist we can figure out some creative dishes that I would enjoy.

Late last night as I was finishing unpacking, I found couple of surprise envelopes in my luggage with pictures and notes of encouragement from many friends and family. So much of my recover has to do with my attitude and staying positive. Thank you for the encouragement!!!

Although I have done what I could at home changing my nutrition and daily habits, I needed to immerse myself in all the ways to fight my cancer through these proven and effective treatments at the spa. One of the key elements was nutrition and out of the 24 spas we looked at, this spa fit the all the criteria.  It's about using a variety of different treatments to create a hostile environment for cancer cells to thrive and grow, making them easier to kill.

There are unique characteristics that can be exploited to increase better outcomes, even for chemotherapy, reducing the amount of chemo by 50%. It is a focused effort and understanding of what makes cancer thrive through a comprehensive change of approach in our mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical changes needed to create a new hostile environment for cancer. Cancer then becomes vulnerable to our immune system, and makes other treatments and nutrition much more effective with better outcomes.

Cancer Cell Unique Metabolism:

Their mitochondria uses sugar instead of oxygen for fuel

They like acidic and inflammatory conditions to grow

They like low oxygen levels in the body

They like lower body temperatures to thrive

This is the exact opposite of a healthy cell environment and nutrition compliment the treatments to kill cancer and help us heal. As I go through each of my treatments I will share a brief explanation of what each of these treatments accomplish in the fight against cancer, and why I believe they are an important step to my journey of recovery.

I am so grateful to have found this place!

Final Goodbye

Don't think of it as a goodbye, more like a see you later. This post is written by Jim's daughter Tyra. As many of you know my Dad...

A New Hope

It was quite the journey getting home. Was supposed to be home Friday evening, but didn’t actually get in until Saturday afternoon....
